Family: Caryophyllaceae (Pink family)

Mid-Atlantic bloom time: April - October

Knawel is native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa, and has been introduced into the rest of the world. It often grows in disturbed areas, but is typically not invasive. It has a prostrate or spreading habit, with a height of between 5-20 cm.
