American Water-willow grows partially or intermittently submerged along still or flowing water. A perennial, it grows to 30-80 cm (12-31 inches) tall, with leaves that resemble willow tree leaves (hence the common name). It can form large colonies along shorelines, growing from its creeping rhizomes.
