Mid-Atlantic bloom time: April - October

Ebony Spleenwort is common throughout the area. Its rachis is a characteristic shiny dark brown or black throughout its length. The pinnae are alternate and coarsely serrate, occasionally having auricles (ear-like lobes) at their base.
